Cuba signed the Contract of participation in EXPO-2017

On November 17 this year the meeting of First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Commissioner of “EXPO-2017” Rapil Zhoshybayev with Extraordinary and Authorized Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Commissioner of national section of Cuba pavilion in EXPO-2017 Carlos Enrique Valdes de la Concepcion was held in the building of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the RK.
The parties exchanged views on prospects of further cooperation in the field of “green energy” and discussed the issues of participation of Cuba in Astana exhibition.
Following the results of the meeting, a ceremony of signing the Contract of participation of Cuba in EXPO-2017 World Specialized Exhibition took place.
Participation of Cuba in world EXPOs begins with the first exhibition in 1852 in London, where Cuba participated as a Spanish colony. Cuba is one of the first Latin American countries officially confirmed and signed the Contract of participation.
As the Ambassador of Cuba, Mr. Concepcion noted, “these events are a measure of high level of political relations between these two countries.
Cuba recognizes the importance of the theme of EXPO-2017 and aims to change its current energy matrix and, after all, produce 24% of its energy from renewable sources by 2030”.
